Not only is Rehab Guru being utilised to deliver pulmonary rehabilitation for COPD suffers, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Rehab Guru has worked in partnership with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College London to support return to activity and fitness programmes following a period of illness (including COVID-19).
Through this collaboration, Imperial College London have launched both the Movement Foundations Programme and the Athlete Programme which supports athlete’s return to activity after COVID.
The Movement Foundations programme is a guided digital rehabilitation programme to support anyone who is recovering from a period of illness or inactivity. It gives users a personalised and structured exercise programme which uniquely benchmarks baseline assessments and progresses users based upon their logged sessions. The app gives both users and clinical staff clear and easy to read results.
For the Athlete Programme, we collaborated to create a 5-phase COVID recovery plan with the Imperial team. This progresses the volume of exercise and activity, using pre and post exercise self-assessment.
The exercises themselves are divided into groups to help:
Users are guided through each phase of the recovery plan remotely through their client app, whilst the clinical team can monitor the progress of a large caseload through the clinical platform.
This enables a tailored and responsive approach to COVID recovery, without the need for face-to-face rehabilitation. The application of Rehab Guru in COVID-19 recovery and in the self-managed recovery from illness using progressive exercise, has significant potential to improve service delivery.
We continue to hone and develop the Movement Foundations Programme with the Imperial College NHS Trust and patient participation groups. The research is gathering valuable evidence to enable us to partner with the NHS to offer an excellent solution for COVID-19 recovery.
We were able to support the Imperial team to deliver effective and scalable, digital solutions that promotes the remote monitoring of patients from one platform. Our experience of highly secure, rapid deployment enabled us to implement the programme at speed whilst meeting the NHS’s digital, data and technology standards.
In addition, we are able to offer a bespoke, white-glove service to adapt our platform to your needs. Our experience on working on ‘special projects’ ensures that we can customise integrations, create specialist workflows and data collection options to meet your unique requirements. For further information on how we are improving the delivery of PR in the NHS, see our NHS case study.
